Etstoel Anloo 2005

On the third Saturday of August the village Anloo in the province of Drenthe is turned back to four centuries into time. The inhabitans of the village do their best to relive the life in the 17th century. Salesmen and artist came from far to visit this village. Acrobats and musicians entertained the public. The mediaeval church and its surroundings are the stage for the reenactment of the Court in Drenthe, called Etstoel, in the 17th century. This took place three times a year: two times in Rolde, but on the celebration of St. Magnus (August 19th) in the church of Anloo.

Since 1987 the jurisdiction of the Etstoel is reenacted. It is based on real facts and the persons who are on trail really lived centuries ago. This year the reenactment took place on August 20th 2005.
